Stick bug co-op

Idk if it's a bug or intended to work like this, but the Stick buff cycling doesn't happen in co-op. Works fine in solo play in my own game session, but after joining a friend in co-op, the stick never buffs itself (or the other weapon if dual wielding). Obviously the stick is +10, wearing the failed pilgrim set and I've pet the dog for hours, it works fine in solo as I've confirmed, but in co-op I never once got the buff. Would be nice if the devs look into it, it's a fun hidden mechanic that's sadly ruined by bugs.
