Radiant auras build PvE
Did someone manage to find a way to find a balance between mana and aura? Since they nerf it, I can’t find a way to keep them on.

I haven't tested it personally, but there is an amulet (Unbridled Focus) that reduces the cost of sorceries and auras, as well as the manastone ring, and a mana regen rune for your shield. I don't know if that's enough to zero out the mana cost, but it should go a long way towards keeping you in mana while running them. There is also a ring that gives you a small amount of mana PER HIT on an enemy. Again, not sure if that's enough to balance the cost out entirely, but it should give you an extended lifespan while running auras

*UPDATE*
Ok so I decided to actually try it out. And with the Unbridled Focus amulet, and the "grant a small amount of mana regeneration" rune in my shield, and a mana pool of 560, the mana drain was as follows:
Barbed Aura (6 mana): Almost entirely zeroed out. There was a very slight drain, but if you've got a decent mana pool, you can run this aura for a LOOONG time.
Invigoratin Aura/Aura of Tenacity (12 mana): Noticeable mana drain for these 2, as they cost twice as much. It's still a noticeable speed, but you can run it for probably the length of a fight without too much issue? I timed it, and with my 560 mana pool I was able to run it for about 2:10 seconds before it shut off. That's running a single 12 cost aura mind you. No clue how much benefit the manastone ring will provide to this equation, as I don't have it yet. But it's not that bad if you have invested heavily into mana, which I would assume you would for an aura build.

Oh thanks to tried this out! I did some research too :praisesun:

Before the update, one mana stone ring and 3 Nartun rune was enough to keep invigoring annd tenacity auras for no free.

Here’s what I found :

Mana stone ring gives you +2 m/s, so you can expect a +4 regen for both slot. I saw, on fextralife comments, someone who said that one Nartun rune grants you another +2, same as the ring, so you go for a +6. So far we got a +10.

Aura of tenacity cost 7.5 m/s.
Invigoring aura cost 15m/s.
Barbed aura cost 3m/s.

Numbers seams to work because I can keep Aura of Tenacity with on ring and three runes, and still get a tiny mana gain.

So, if you wear 3 Nartun and 2 rings, you can keep tenacity and barbed aura with a 0.5m/s drain. But you cannot keep the invigoring aura anymore. I don’t think that unbridled focus works will reduce mana drain, because in the description they said “mana cost”.

Maybe using ring of gnawing could be a good idea. Not sure if it’ll be worth.

Their 1.5 update clearly states "Split PvP and PvE game balancing" which just seems to be flat out false. The aura nerfs were done to both pvp and pve equally. Its fine to balance things that are too strong for pvp like the double auras, but why ruin it for single player people who made their character around that? I feel like there is a giant disconnect between whoever wrote that patch message and whoever designs game balance.

Hum… That’s why! Indeed it was broken in PvE and I understand why they made this nerf. Orius judgment + lucent beam brainless was a pain too in PvP. I hope they get nerfed too!

Well I keep working my radiant PvE build for this run. Then I’ll go back to my pyro toon. I wish they will separate PvP and PvE in the future :bonfire2:

I was using only the ring of gnawing for a long time, as my mana regeneration method, and the amount you get from each hit is small but noticeable. It does add up pretty quickly. My old system was basically to use it so I could use Sanctify to heal a full health bar in one go, to save Brio stones and flasks. And then run through the next section of trash mobs. And usually it was enough to restore most, if not all of the mana I used. So I think if you added that into the equation it will likely extend it a good bit. If you are an aggressive fighter, which I would assume is kind of the point of an aura build, and are using a fast weapon, or dual wield (which is what I did), I think it will help quite a bit to stretch out that mana bar during combat. Which is when you want to be running aura's anyway.

I think you're right! I'll look into that. It would leave room to use a ring to increase DPS and indeed swap the shield to play with two swords and take advantage of the talent of both lightsabers will be funniest!

yeah and i can confirm that both weapons in a dual wield trigger the mana regen effect for that ring. Not sure if it's enough to offset the regen of a shield with runes?

I don’t think so. Don’t have number for the other ring who gives mana per hit.

Yeah we have got to get the Devs attention for that; either that or they are working on the "actual split" and we will see it soon enough. If thats the case, these changes were made for a stopgap because PvP matches were so lopsided (NG++++ dudes jumping into fresh NG0 games etc.)
