Smite Damage vs Radiant Damage
Ok so, exactly what does the Smite damage look like, and is it just accumulated with ANY weapon that does Radiant damage? Is it that random bolt of lightning I see hit my enemies from time to time when I'm running the radiant weapon buff? Does it only accumulate when I'm running that buff or using the salts? Or does any weapon that has Radiant damage as a type start to build up the Smite status bar until it's filled? And doing things like the smite/radiant salts or radiant damage buff spell, just make it accumulate faster?

I've found a few items that specifically proc when it comes to Smite damage, not Radiant damage, so I'm trying to figure out whether the item is actually viable to start using, but Smite is a very unexplained damage type.

Smite Buildup *is* the lightning bolt you see, when using a weapon that has a number next to the "yellow burst" on the Sheet Page. Smite Buildup is your "Radiant Damage"; All Radiant weapons/spells do Smite Buildup.

You can increase the amount of Smite Buildup you do by adding salts, Radiant weapon spell, and others into the mix. I (for example) use Flickering Flail, 3x Satus runes, Radiant Weapon spell, maxed Exacter Scripture, and amu + rings that increase spellpower (which does make all spells hit harder/heal more!) This will contribute to how much more Smite Buildup you make in enemies (minus their resistance to the damage type of course)

TL;DR

Radiant Damage is just a Damage type (like Fire, Inferno, etc.); Smite Buildup is its Status effect. More Radiant in build, faster build of Smite (and possibly more damage when it procs).

Cool, that's what I thought, but wanted outside confirmation. Thanks.
