Nice! Also yeah I also have the same settings ;)
Honestly this has been insanely fun so far to me. I don't even mind dying and restarting because like in a roguelite, you keep character progression, so it really changes the whole game.
I have found myself using the Umbral shifting to replenish my hp and playing in more risky ways as well. The game systems seems really well thought out for such a type of modifier.
Yeah I was surprised at how well it was implemented and how natural these rogue-like modifiers were to the game. Even the progression feels decent because you are still able to keep heal and lamp upgrades.
This new addition pretty much redeemed my opinion on the game because before I was pretty upset at the nerfs and removals the devs did on launch. As it is now I can see myself trying all kinds of challenge runs using these modifiers.
We go in again.......... ;)
I'll say this, the withered health modifier is pure cancer, most bosses under normal conditions are face-tankable after you beat the game a few times, but not in this mode, really had to readjust my playstyle to incorporate ranged.
EDIT: I am at Adyr, this was not an easy fight with Withered health my first time, now with Ironman mode on too its going to be tougher, the time limit and fireball spam is irritating...
Pure PAIN........... I was pretty much 3 main bosses down and was about to head to the castle area. I got greedy saw a treasure in the umbral world, did not see one of those stupid head monsters sitting in the corner, and as soon as I umbral shifted it did that jumping slam attack right on me pretty much one shot be because I had half withered health.
This death was pure pain, and 100% my fault for taking unnecessary risks when my build was pretty much already complete.
Thank goodness I'm doing this for fun and not for achievements otherwise this death would have made me uninstall LOL.
Welp to the beginning to the beginning again we go.......
No I'm keeping all of my gear and I'm pretty much maxed out, I'm just not rushing through and I'm exploring everything. I've also got some pretty nasty enemy spawns in terrible places so 99% of my deaths have been early games around the scaffolding areas, getting knocked off edges and stuff lol.
100% of my deaths are my fault, as I'm pretty sure if I was not actually trying to do the questlines as well I could easily rush to the radiance ending. Also for perspective I'm level 121, mostly doing a bleed spear/shield build with some radiance spells for ranged options.
EDIT: let me also preface I;m playing with the withered health healing and not the normal so that can leave you in some tense situations if you make one mistake.
Thing was like 3 grenades left till it died and i missed a block :(
