Try another crabs treasure instead. Better introduction imo.

just get used to it being hard and keep retrying until you kill the boss

Elden Ring is easier than the Dark Souls games or try The Surge or Nioh. Nioh has Diablo style loot drops if you are into that. Nioh is fairly linear though. The old Lord's of the Fallen might be easy enough as well.

Nioh learning curve or difficulty sits more with Diablo and way more skill based imo. Elden ring I guess could work the issue is how progression is handled compared to previous games.

Nioh is no walk in the park but may be easier than other Souls games which is why I brought it up.. Diablo is a power fantasy so it's fairly easy. Nioh requires more player skill than Diablo. I only made the Diablo reference regarding loot not gameplay.

Nioh is absolutely brutal. The final challenges (in the DLC's) are harder than anything Dark Souls has to offer. OP: Try Dark Souls 3 and understand that dying is not a process of failing, but a process of learning.

You can literally say that about all Souls-like games though. Dying is part of the learning process in all these games.

The real uber hard soul like for "general gamer" is
1) Sekiro
2) Dark Soul 2
3) Lie of P, especially before patch 1.01 is infamous
4) Nioh series

Other soul like are pretty generous.
LOTR is 1 of the much much more generous one.
Consider if you die in real world, you respawn same space at Umbral world.
This mean you have "2 lifes" if the combat is at real world, unless you die in Umbral World.
Not only this, most boss allow you to summon NPC help. Which again made the already not so hard game become much more easier.
LOTR the true real hard boss is maybe just that 1 hybrid demon/umbra due to the lore. And that boss is really a climax 1 v 1 duel

Like what above said, if you are the type of gamer who retry same boss with 1 hour then give up a game ?
Then you are not qualified into any soul like, as your personality/attitude quality is just low.
Soul like is only meant for high quality mindset gamer.

If you are assuming other gamers can play soul like so well and call them "talented", that is a huge mistake so much noob made.
Most of the pro players, came through blood, tear, sweat and countless retries.
People who unable to accept defeat and improve is a person who never deserve great stuffs

Thing is the gear system in nioh is more important then skill in some cases. It’s why I wish the system was removed in the sequel but oh well. Also death is a learning process regardless of genre.

No, skill is still required. If you suck you will get rekt easy. The gear system helps but it can't help if you suck. Also the gear system is fine in Nioh a nice change of pace and besides I love loot driven games so it was fine with me. If you want to play Nioh like others Souls-likes that have static gear (that gets boring) then just use Common gear all the time. The game doesn't force you to equip anything.

I’ve seen vids of the first game with someone with the right gear one shotting bosses. Some skill while required nioh is way more dependent on gear. Also it does since gear that isn’t the right level will barely damage enemies. While I would agree it’s a nice change given the combat system in nioh it takes focus away from the core combat. It’s why it works in something like Diablo or borderlands.

Edit: let me expand on this the game isn’t that gear dependent on ng and somewhat path of the strong. But everything on wise and nioh is 100 percent gear dependent to even play at that difficulty.

Literally all souls games are "gear dependent" though.....next...

Not to what nioh has though, you get a weapon upgrade its a fixed amount of upgrades with the only radicals changes being infusions. Nioh goes to an extreme to the point you don’t need to bother with all the combos the game has. Most souls games don’t have anywhere near the depth and options nioh has.

easier soulslike that I can recommend :
- Jedi Fallen Order/ Jedi Survivor
- Wo Long Fallen Dynasty
- Elden Ring (base game)
- this one (Lords of The Fallen)
- Dark Souls 3 (imo easiest in the trilogy)
at the end of the day no soulslike is too easy dying is part of the experience no soulslike will let you first try everything haha so good luck
