Linux Steam Play/Proton: DX12 is not supported on your system
I have played several hours of this game thus far, and it has worked fairly well (very laggy on the first run, but closing out and restarting the game fixed this - also, autoset graphics must not work on Linux). However, today I chose to connect a new 1440p monitor to my laptop (Nvidia RTX3060), which caused the following error to appear:
DX12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.
The game obviously refused to launch. Not sure why connecting an external monitor to run the game on makes a difference. Very strange.

That sounds weird. How do other games work? Does the X-Server (if not using wayland) uses the nvidia drivers?

Maybe also have a look on protondb in the PC section.

What version of Proton/Nvidia drivers are you running? I use have a 1440p monitor and a 3060Ti and I'm running the latest 545.29.06 Nvidia drivers and Proton Experimental without issue. After an update I sometimes see it lag and have to load in, close steam, and reopen again but then everything runs fine. If latest driver and/or Proton Experimental doesn't do it I would try the latest Proton-GE release.

*Edit* - Also update Flatpak if you are running Steam that way (flatpak update).

Try the following launch options

VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 VKD3D_SHADER_MODEL=6_6 %command%

Worked for me on AMD though it could be different on Nvidia. The game did not have those issue on launch but it occurred for me after some update.

AgilitySDK is supported since vkd3d-proton 2.9, which was implemented in Proton 8.0-3 and you need the correct GPU driver as well.

On AMD's side for example, the Vulkan driver won't work so i wonder if Nvidia has similar driver shenanigans.
