Does this game have singleplayer-only functionality?
Deciding whether to buy the game, can it be just downloaded and played without a internet connection?

idk if you need internet or not but you can turn multiplayer off if thats what you want

The game can be played without internet. Being online is only required if you want to participate in multiplayer.

^said online functions include PVP, COOP, achievements and online exclusive armor sets, possibly also spells and weapons in the future.
(on the matter of spells and weapons I am uncertain if it is already a thing however)

you can disable online in the game, you don't need to physically disable your internet.
