Drop rates are abysmal...

1 Pumpkin helmet + 2 Bountiful Rings + Charmed Paw = 4x Discovery Rate

However after several hours of attempting to grind for the new throwables such as the Bursting Grubs, they have not dropped once... on the brightside I'll never need to buy Briostones again...

theres an eyeball that improve your discovery rate by 30% while in umbral

Equip shield with droprate runes if you can as well. Additionaly remember, that paws, the different kinds, stack with each other.

Yeah, use the helmet, both rings, a shield with discovery runes, 2 different charms, and then the umbral eye in secondary socket. You prolly can stack the umbral eye, by getting a second one. So +60% for all the discovery, that is if it's possible to stack duplicate umbral effects.

But the drop rates are fine, the hardest one to get though is the chunk drop from holy bulwark, if you've given the 3rd tablet (dunno if sparky getting the rune tablet works with that mechanic)

They do, problem is Byron doesn't give reward twice and eye that increases discovery is obtained from him. Unless you somehow managed to get him to give you rewards twice then sure, it should work.

Yeah, you're right, only one you can have. You can't drop it, so it's a one and done deal.

But the main slot should be an interesting one. As long as it's equipped it keeps stacking up until you remove it. The amount dunno, maybe after 100 grievous strikes you get 1 discovery.
Unless you cheat yourself more than 1.

Sou potentially could have 60% discovery increase, and in main slot a third one to max it out even more, as long as you don't change it out.

Well now we know you cheated that one in. You can't drop 'em, and the quest doesn't give more, unless it got bugged.
As I've gotten like 6 same type keys for a kitchen door, that get at least removed after starting ng+.

I didn't. I just complete the quest twice I have characters that did more than twice.

Who knows what the devs think. Considering they removed the vigor and boosted the discovery, guess they thought that item should be also limited, otherwise just pop it into every slot you have.

It could be before the latest patch or after? I don't really pay attention much to these stuff. To be honest, there isn't a need for me to farm. Like you say, you can cheat. Why cheat a stupid eye ball when you can just trade with a friend for items you want? The Eye ball is useless.

Because they don't have a stupid friend to trade with, so they use the smart way to cheat it in.
