Did the developers hide the invasion concept when promoting their game before launch ?
It is well known that this game attracts many types of audiences. Many players, myself included, bought the game for the main campaign, the playable mechanics and the co-op to be able to play with my friends. I have never bought any game for pvp and I never will. I don't care about pvp one bit and I don't want it in my game. Simple.
Have the developers offered you a way to play the main campaign, play the mechanics without invasions ?
In fact no, they haven't offered it.
Because a temporary consumable that is extremely difficult to obtain during the first run is not a solution to avoid invasions.
That's why we're asking the devs for the opportunity to deactivate it at will from the beginning of the game.
In fact yes they have, you just aren't happy with it.
They could have given no way to avoid them at all.
But, instead of taking the olive branch they offered you want the whole tree.
This leaves the question unanswered: did the developers lie at some point about the link between cooperation and invasions ?
Offline mode does not allow coop. We want coop without invasions.
Nobody has said they lied. This is a request that many users want and that is why we are here.
Alt+F4 is still there. As a dev said in the last patch comments, they can't disable it. And if they disable it, players can always force closing the game, turn off the computer, cut off the power in the house, etc, etc. If people really don't want invasion, they will do everything to avoid invasions. So, why not include it in the game by default?
You can also play the main campaign, play the mechanics and cooperate online with the use of a mirror, thus preventing any invasion, right?
Since the developers didnt lie about the link between invasions and cooperation , and you have ways to play the way you want , why want a change ?
In the developers words : "For those playing online, be warned, as heroes from other realms can, and will invade."
Or do you have another reason as to why coop without invasions ?
I see that you are not reading my posts. The mirror of protection item is temporary, sellers do not sell it infinitely and is difficult to obtain. Especially in the first playthrough of the game, so it doesn't work for those who want to evade invasions starting the game. In addition to that, it is an item of dubious functionality. My friends and I have sometimes received an invasion right after consuming one. As you can see, it is not a viable option to avoid invasions.
you can buy 20 mirrors from merchants with vigor per playthrought , and a infinite number from the shrine of Orius with Pilfered Coins.
We could argue about 20 not being sufficient per playthrough but imo , if you play coop , you will get enough Pilfered Coins to buy any additional mirrors , should you need to.
For the mirror , the description speak for itself : "A mirror which reflects malevolent energy, temporarily protecting you from those seeking to perform the Crimson Ritual."
As for the mirror not working, I can't comment on it, since I haven't encountered this bug, but you can report the bug to the developers to fix it.
If you think that the mirror does not provide enough protection time, you can ask the developers to extend the duration of this item.
Yes, as it has been requested multiple times to fix the quests of Exacter Dunmire and Kukajin being activated as a boss and the devs continue to ignore this issues. Is that what you mean? The devs have shown at this point multiple times that they are not paying attention to real problems in the game.
To be clear, I understand that our request is also unlikely to be heard. But in any case, that doesn't mean we don't have the right to express how we feel on the issue about the forced pvp in multiplayer. Because it's not just about this game, it's also about games that will be created in the future.
That’s perfectly reasonable and that’s why this thread is so useful.
Those who suffer from invasions, even if a few minority of 3-5 people over thousand purchasers, have the right to comfort each other in echo chambers like this.
A safe, comfortable environment where their voices can resonate as thousands.
As you said, it’s quite unlikely devs will change the game, on the contrary, they’re empowering invasions and studying a solution for alt+F4 quitters, but as you’ve the legitimate tools to avoid invasions in game, you’ve the tools to find comfort here with people alike.
There’s no reason to be ashamed.
Previously I could invade within a few seconds and actually get into other peoples games about 50% of the time.
Since the ping changes, I've invaded 0 times.
I'm not. You can't be a quitter if you didn't sign up to what you're refusing in the first place.
Btw already the developers said that Alt+F4 cannot be disabled. So sorry.
