If you unlock the Bramis Castle door without cleansing any beacon, you're locked into inferno ending.
Umbral ending is accessible as long as you don't unlock the Bramis Castle door, and don't cleanse any beacon, also have access to certain npcs.
So the latest backup you can make is just before Bramis Castle gate and if you didn't cleanse any beacon.
But, that's pointless with this game, if you 100% the first run, get your whatever ending, and you use the restart game (ng+0) run, not new game +1 run, you can fast forward through the game and get all the other endings.
Also if you miss items from certain npcs, in terms of buying from them, you can also do that in co-op.
Warning big gates to later areas, going to fief will skip one npcs location (opening the gate didn't seem to move Drustan to fief for me from the gorge), locking out it's questline, same with bramis castle gate, or Empyrean church gate, if you do them in a proper order, you might just miss out shop items only, but you'll get their set item, as they died there or just left them there.
Cleansing beacons the moment you can, also can lock you out of some npcs.
One npc even requires you to do die for every boss where she can be summoned.
No idea why the devs did it so that you can only summon npcs, when you die to the boss, while the latest bucket man just helps you whenever it can, but if you hoard too many items, it helps the bosses permanently until a new run starts.
If I play in co-op with someone who's doing one of the endings, it won't count for me, right?
The only things you get in their world is 50% vigor, and monster drops, though you can get from some bosses, prolly those mid-bosses (elite enemies as bosses), special items like rings (if it's a guaranteed drop), but yeah rings aren't quest items, you can't collect any loot in terms preplaced loot or open chests. But you can access npc shops (which inventory is based on your world progression), also there is a bug, if you encounter an npc, and the host does something that makes it disappear, you can still interact with them in the exact same place, even though the npc doesn't exist there anymore for the host, you can't see anything too, just a pop up appears that you can interact with them, buy and sell stuff, dunno if it's required for the guest player to meet the npc first, probably not.
Thanks! 👍🏽
What I said is for completing her questline, which costs ya close to 50k vigor.
