RTX 3090 RUNNING ON MEDIUM/LOW SETTINGS?!?!?!

HALP SOMEONE. my rig is old but has been updated afew times and its not the best but is good enough to play pretty much anything so WHY IS GEFORCE DRIVER SAYING I CAN PLAY THIS ON HIGH SETTINGS?!?! i get crap frames and when i select "auto detect" on the ingame menu for optimal settings it pushes me to lower end settings with horrible textures and terrible screen tearing.

I am one of the few of you who actually LOVE this game even for all its faults. but this is not acceptable for a game like this to run like trash on a "goodish" rig.

really confused. is there a setting i should be enabling or something that im missing?

its practically unplayable. ESPECIALLY IN UMBRAL.

I got the same GPU as you.
Autodetect sets it to a mix of high and low (sounds the same as you?)

My desktop resolution is 4k

I can run the game at max or ultra or whatever it's called locked at 60fps using DLSS and it's very smooth (with vsync on).

I generally lock all my games at 60 as it's more than enough for me and i prefer better visuals and fidelty at a smooth FPS vs a higher one.

Make sure you are using DLSS. Mine is set to balance. Like i said. That gives me a solid 60fps. It will occasionally dip lower when i'm deep in the umbral realm. For some reason when timer gets near it's peak it dips my fps down to about 50 which is weird.

Are you running off an SSD? That's the only other thing i can think of. I've found so many games these last couple of years run like garbage on HDD on my system.

I have the 3090 FE and run it in almost highest settings.
What CPU do you have? How much RAM?
I don't think oyur GPU is the issue, if it's not overheating or something.

It's because several settings will toggle RTX on on high or ultra.
This game, nevertheless, looks like baked beans while chugging along.
