Artificial Difficulty,
Devs steal you progress mid playthrough
Performance issues
every weapon in a class plays exactly the same (aka same moveset)
Multiplayer is currently dead because of the last patch
More gank squads than Dark Souls 2
Save Corruption is a common occurrence
Etc.

To add on, lack of any real creativity, this game just feels like the most generic Souslike. Credit to the environments and art design, but there's a grand total of about 15 actual enemies with very little variety, and the combat is the most cookie cutter, safe thing that tries absolutely nothing new.

You don't consider ice skating around whenever you attack new? It isn't good, but they sure tried it out.

2 worlds system is kinda new in soulslikes, the incredible value of having to switch to your lantern, enter a different realm. lock onto a target, cast your lantern to pull a bridge open, cross the bridge, find a way out of the realm. In order to what in other soul games is simply crossing a bridge really makes this game stand out.

I personally don't think it's mid. I think the game is actually really well made. There are of course some valid critiques like the lack of an inventory system, not enough enemy variety, performance issues and weapons all having the same movesets.

I enjoyed it despite the flaws, quite a bit actually. I wanna see more from this dev and this world because I found the game very fun to play. I think this game elevates the genre in a few ways and I hope From Soft and other devs planning to make Soulslikes take inspiration from this game.

Yeah, brilliant idea - lock onto a target, cast your lantern to pull a bridge open, cross the bridge, find a way out of the realm, just to cross ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bridge

This, the gimmick is fun for a bit, but then it quickly grows tedious as hell and makes exploration a chore.

So imagine this, right, you're fighting your way to the top of a castle, and you come to the tower platform. Now, there's a caster in each corner, one of those Bell head guys in the corner, there's a Bringer of Stillness chasing you along with like 13 of the stupid little umbral trash enemies. So, you kill the 4 casters and then turn around to deal with the little trash mobs, because the bell guy hasn't moved yet. Well, as soon as your back is turned he decides to get up and scream inside his bell, which somehow knocks you straight off the top of the tower to your death. So you come back, and you do it all again, but this time one of the casters literally PUSHES YOU THROUGH THE WALL and you fly off the same spot to your death. So you go back and do it again, and you're getting hit through the wall, punched by the little milk goblins behind you, but some how you swing and swing and swing and you're through, you've killed the casters and the things chasing you. You step onto the tower, and one of those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gargoyle things divebombs you and kills you.

This isn't a bossfight.

I hate this game, I'm just too stubborn to stop playing it since I've played it too long to refund now. Fundamentally speaking, it has decent bones. It could be a decent little game, you know, nothing too crazy or out there but a decent game nonetheless. It is not. There are so many aspects of this game's design that are just annoying. Not like "git good" annoying but like every time you leave your house, no matter where you go, or what you do, someone comes out of nowhere and kicks you straight in the balls with zero warning then shouts "EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!" so you get jaded and instead of going through life and enjoying the moment, you're just begrudgingly pushing forward waiting for that hammer to fall on your testicles. Does that make sense?

Instead of having fun, this game is a chore and I am a literal slave to it until I have completed it. Elden Ring had some really difficult parts, but I was only pretend mad when I spent 3 hours dying to Malenia. Lords of the Fallen makes me actually mad and I'm in a bad mood the entire time. I'm just trying to beat it so I can forget it's in my games library at this point.
