This isn't seamless coop
That is simply a lie.
Apart from the coop partner:
- getting less xp
- not getting boss drops
- not getting drops in the environment
There are also invisible walls where they can simply not pass or only through some trickery. My coop partner just had to wait while I ran to the boss to the warp them in.
In what way is it seamless if my coop partner cant follow me, in what way is it seamless if they have to constantly have to go back to their world cause they missed important items like healing upgrades.
That isn't seamless it's seamfull.
Look at remnant 1 and 2 you can play that entire game from after the tutorial past the final boss in full coop, you get all exp, all drops etc. just not the quest items.
I bought this game in the hopes to finally have a melee souls like with proper coop not the awkward ass stuff that the souls games or elden ring have and this game is advertised with seamless coop.

Is the game actually advertised like this? They explained in a very detailed way how coop and PvP work in this game before launch:

It was until they broke matchmaking code last patch

I beat the game first, 13 times.

Then I played it again and beat it in my friend's world. I was able to give him weapons, armor, pendants, rings, upgrade materials, and lamp and healing upgrades, and he got OP fast and beat the game.

yeah but they also advertise it like this:
https://www.theloadout.com/the-lords-of-the-fallen/co-op-mode-details-elden-ring

"According to a recent interview with Edge Magazine, Hexworks’ creative director Cezar Virtosu outlines that co-op mode will be “seamless and untethered.”"

https://www.gamesradar.com/lords-of-the-fallen-gameplay/

"New Lords of the Fallen gameplay shows off seamless co-op"

https://lordsofthefallen.com/co-op-multiplayer-hexworks-dev-journals/

"Seamless multiplayer"

and

"As an accompanying player, you won’t advance your own story, but you’ll keep any items, levels, achievements, and currencies you earn during the online session.", which is a very sneaky way of phrasing that, if you dont play the game this sounds like the coop partner gets the same items, xp etc as the host similar to remnant but it's just the items and exp you earn which is not even most of them.

They used seamless coop in as a marketing buzzword pre release knowing they could beat the fromsoft games in that regard who all have lackluster coop. But it's simply not there.

You failed to read.

it is your fault.

We all knew when we bought this game that in co-op the progress isn't saved for both co-op partners.

Next time, read and stop blaming the developers when you only have yourself to blame.
Shinkiro Nov 29, 2023 @ 2:14am
It is seamless coop, you can play start to finish (after tutorial) in coop with no interruptions. You're all just assuming it means "full coop pve game" which it is NOT.

There are literally invisible walls and coop partners get teleported to you how is that seamless and untethered? They knew exactly what they were doing with their marketing,

The invisible walls are always in front a boss fight. This is normal. Allows the host to decide when to enter the battle.

Now, when you receive an invasion, invisible walls also appear that block you within an area. We are currently asking for the option to turn off invasions, for those players who do not wish to interact with random players in pvp.

Otherwise, in theory it is probably the best coop system that has been created to date. In practice it is something else. It needs a lot of polishing still. But I personally hope Fromsoftware adopts the same system in future games. And since Fromsoftware has better programmers, they could possibly execute this system much much better.

Walls in front of bosses are normal because they arent loaded and rendered until the condition of triggering them is activated by the host, so summons have to be stopped. (They are usually stored way underneath the map). Because the areas arent segregated into small sections like in past souls games there has to be restrictions on distance otherwise the game is forced to render more than the host is seeing and that will negatively affect performance. It's also good if people get lost and separated from their partner. If you're 1000 miles away you're not helping them so it facilitates cooperation as the system has to deal with random matchmakers and not just friends.

"Untethered" as in progression is not tethered to your summons own world progress as well as your own. They literally never have to touch their characters game to play with you from start to finish.

You all screamed for seamless coop, and then when given it you scream its not "full pve coop" as if these types of game were ever meant to be in the first place.

Have to thought about it? Say, if the random host/helper ran all the way to Skyrest and you are lost in Bramis castle?

It's not the first thing these devs lied about, and it won't be the last.
PlutoniumX Nov 29, 2023 @ 10:06am
This is as "seamless" as you need for this game, if its not what you expected then you should have watched others play the game so you would know if it was your "cup of tea" simple as that
