Is the game actually advertised like this? They explained in a very detailed way how coop and PvP work in this game before launch:
https://lordsofthefallen.com/co-op-multiplayer-hexworks-dev-journals/
It was until they broke matchmaking code last patch
Then I played it again and beat it in my friend's world. I was able to give him weapons, armor, pendants, rings, upgrade materials, and lamp and healing upgrades, and he got OP fast and beat the game.
yeah but they also advertise it like this:
https://www.theloadout.com/the-lords-of-the-fallen/co-op-mode-details-elden-ring
"According to a recent interview with Edge Magazine, Hexworks’ creative director Cezar Virtosu outlines that co-op mode will be “seamless and untethered.”"
https://www.gamesradar.com/lords-of-the-fallen-gameplay/
"New Lords of the Fallen gameplay shows off seamless co-op"
https://lordsofthefallen.com/co-op-multiplayer-hexworks-dev-journals/
"Seamless multiplayer"
and
"As an accompanying player, you won’t advance your own story, but you’ll keep any items, levels, achievements, and currencies you earn during the online session.", which is a very sneaky way of phrasing that, if you dont play the game this sounds like the coop partner gets the same items, xp etc as the host similar to remnant but it's just the items and exp you earn which is not even most of them.
They used seamless coop in as a marketing buzzword pre release knowing they could beat the fromsoft games in that regard who all have lackluster coop. But it's simply not there.
it is your fault.
We all knew when we bought this game that in co-op the progress isn't saved for both co-op partners.
Next time, read and stop blaming the developers when you only have yourself to blame.
The invisible walls are always in front a boss fight. This is normal. Allows the host to decide when to enter the battle.
Now, when you receive an invasion, invisible walls also appear that block you within an area. We are currently asking for the option to turn off invasions, for those players who do not wish to interact with random players in pvp.
Otherwise, in theory it is probably the best coop system that has been created to date. In practice it is something else. It needs a lot of polishing still. But I personally hope Fromsoftware adopts the same system in future games. And since Fromsoftware has better programmers, they could possibly execute this system much much better.
"Untethered" as in progression is not tethered to your summons own world progress as well as your own. They literally never have to touch their characters game to play with you from start to finish.
You all screamed for seamless coop, and then when given it you scream its not "full pve coop" as if these types of game were ever meant to be in the first place.
Have to thought about it? Say, if the random host/helper ran all the way to Skyrest and you are lost in Bramis castle?
It's not the first thing these devs lied about, and it won't be the last.
