Right now, you can't do that, the only thing you can do is fail his quest, which will do the opposite.
Yes
But...
it will fail his quest and he will tag team with the mini bosses and kill you, aka make your game harder.
If you don't initiate his quest, and go about your business and get close to the end of the game, and then go to him and initiate his quest, it will not affect your game, you will just find the buckets on the locations.
If you have initiated his quest, then yeah it will make your game easier sure, I personally think that it makes my game hilarious, there's plenty of time for me to taste the challenges that the game has to offer, but I must say, he is a breath of fresh air.
I think his concerns are well founded, some people like myself, I don't really like to have NPC with me, even for some quest, so I try to do those on ng+ or whatever, it doesn't mean that I am a veteran souls player, I am probably below average, it is just my preference, nothing else.
@Bat problem solved; There's a way to get rid of "unwanted help" AND also make sure the sweatlord will have a tougher game
Once again, the sweatlords that plague these games are reaching indecent levels of gaming insanity.
I must say when Bucket guy becomes your enemy, he puts up a good amount of challenge, I had him working with Abbess and Carion Knight guy, he was against me in NG+1 He made things harder, that's for sure
I hate people like you. Why is someone an elitist cause they aren't shy to admit that they want to be challenged? Why does that bother you so much? Is it because you have an issue playing these kind of games so you call others "elitist" who are actually good at these type of games and who aren't afraid to admit that they like to be challenged when playing these kid of games >___>
I wouldn't even properly engage with this person if i were you. Anyone who gets triggered at someone who admits that they like/want to be challenged when playing a souls-like are just projecting there own frustrations
Or maybe get to think such "totally average" players actually belong to that weird 99th percentile.
It also looks like such said NPC will become your enemy and would side with bosses if you piss him off, so.... why so mad? You accomplished your objective to have a tougher game, just like you wanted.
EOF.
Except Kalamet, why are you even trying to dictate how should I enjoy playing my own singleplayer experience? Do you understand that each person is different and has different perspectives on the world, different backgrounds, different preferences? Soulslikes are a genre where the gameplay and narrative are in a great harmony. It is my choice to feel opressed, challenged and ultimately I enjoy the possibility of catharsis of overcoming the dificulties through my own in a spectacular way only this genre offers to me. This process repeatadly helped me to come to terms with my own depression and ultimately learn how to fight it. I internalized feelings I get from these games. These games are like a little training grounds for my own will, so I don't give up in the real world. So please, do not go around telling people how they should or shouldn't feel about something which is their own.
