How does COOP actually function?

Im thinking of buying this, but only if it has proper, fully-featured 2p coop.
Can someone explain to me how exactly coop works in this?

you each have your own worlds, if you want key items you have to take turns and defeat the bosses in each players world.

the host get story and stuff. the guest can gain vigor/exp/money and items from monsters or a bit stuff from boss. i guess this need to be like this because otherwise when you join to help other people random you break your game because then you continue different spots in the story or join at start already one who do final boss xD

Also if you are planning on joining randoms it currently is not working... at least the wait times for matchmaking are so long its insane. I've been trying for 1hour now, nothing. Worked fine before the latest patch though.

How do you join a friends game? Is it through a menu or do you need to be summoned like in Dark Souls?

Searched for coop game for 25 minutes... found one but was "Disconnected From host".... blaaaaaah

in the vestige menu there will either be a "log in" option or a "multiplayer" option click that n youll figure it out from there

Its basically like Fromsofts "coop" but you're not limited to a boss/area, and can go through the game from start to finish with someone.
However, you can't pick up curated loot like weapons, armors, spells and the estus shard equivalent to upgrade your healies.

If you're expecting something like Remnant or even the Elden Ring Seamless Coop mod, you'll be very disappointed.

don’t buy this game in the last patch the online one is completely dead, I tried to create a new character and with my 300th level, I can’t find anyone and they don’t invade me, when I try to write to the developers they just ignore me.
