LOTF2 was my first game like dark souls so it was a steep learning curve for me especially with this game's main feature of two worlds in one. Can't wait to go play Dark Souls 3 soon. Will skip 1 since it's old but 2 maybe yes.
This game is a little difficult because you get lost but I made a 3hr 45 minute guide to the main ending.

And just finished a live playthrough of NG+11 no vestiges deathless for the Umbral ending:

I'd say you try the game and play it for less than 2 hours so if you are not happy with it, get a full refund from steam. You must ensure your game never or rarely crashes before you decide to actually keep the game. Some graphics cards are still causing the game to crash often for many players. Mine craashes 0.01% of the time.
Good luck.
Yah, I take you beat it on NG+3 and beyond, right?
Compared to Nioh, Nioh 2, Bloodborne, Lies of P, Wo Long, Elden Ring, Dark Souls, this probably sits at one of the easiest. It's somewhere around the Surge. What I like about it is that the systems play together very well. There's a good block with some health regen, the parry window is long enough if you're using a shield, but works well if you dual wield... I like the dual world system...
Nioh 2 is my favorite souls-like, and this is up there. Overall the world is a bit confusing, but the combat in this one plays really well.
The combination of numerous, relatively tanky enemies and movement that just doesn't feel good was a bad one for me. I constantly seemed to dodge in odd directions, or have trouble with lock-on. Hell, I even played through the original Lords of the Fallen, and while it was obviously rough around the edges, I finished it and enjoyed it. Not so with this one.
Combine the movement issues with repeated enemy set-ups that are purely designed to ambush the player and it quickly started to feel tedious. I'm not sure if there's something I wasn't getting about it or not, but it just wasn't fun for me, and I'm actually kind of sad about it because the world was beautiful and visually striking and the lamp mechanic was brilliant.
Also, I know the person above mentioned the first boss, but she was the deciding factor for me saying "nope, never mind". The first boss in a game like this is supposed to be an introduction, not a deathmarch. I gave her a few tries and didn't even get close.
Hard at first but easy once you get a feel for it
