Don't upgrade the searing accusation.

I don't know if this problem is going to be fix but... it is a problem.

I'm at ng + 3 and I was trying to free the tortured prisoner to fail her quest and activate her as a boss. My Searing accusation was at +10 so I wanted to keep it. When trying to get another one, it has not been added to my inventory. Long story short, I had to give him the one that I had already upgraded to +10. I did my search and apparently you can only have 1 in the game and no more. This makes no sense.

The more I play this game the more problems I find. Or more inconsistencies. This is not a glitch, this is one of many creative decisions that make no sense at all.

If I get this item back, I highly doubt it will be at +10 as it was. And that will mean more lost materials.

Yeah, I went into NG+0 and found out the hard way. Luckily, I have a rohgar heart on the side.

tbh its kinda obvious that a weapon that functions as a quest item will most likely be altered if you give it away. I think its a good find. The devs can most likely fix this oversight. Thing is. Normally it would not be upgraded at all when you free her. In NG+0 or +1 you should already have been realised that you don't get a second version of this item. If not then its just super unlucky. I hope they fix it but tbh not a big deal. Normally you get the item back and thats the moment you start upgrading it. That you went the other way around is just random.

Thing is, this is the only inferno catalyst you can get before entering the last zone of the game, and it's better than the default inferno catalyst. So, everyone who plays an inferno build would likely already upgraded it to +10, and they would hand it to the tutored prisoner again in ng+ then get a +0 back before realizing it. It's just absurd.

one can upgrade this catalyst found in the same area that the tortured prisonner is , and is requiered to free her but it is kind obvious that this item serves mostly as a quest item rather than a true catalyst (maybe this is the error in the quest , they should not have made searing accusation as a proper catalyst and just a quest item).

You got it here. I don’t know about any game in history that ever created an upgradable weapon that was a quest key item at the same time. Impossible to see that coming. Specially because you have to give it away two times.
