Best short sword for now ?

Pieta was mega op i know they nerfed it but wich one is good to use now ?
Thought about the MELTED DARK CRUSADER SWORD if u have the scaling i think its the best one for now ?

Lightreaper's swords, Stillness Blades are also good I hear. Lightreapers suppose to give a special attack when duel wielding. Pieta should still be the same for low level radiance builds.

Elianne the starved is probably the worse one, stay away from it. I think it should be buffed given the boss was the toughest thing I faced in the game.

Pieta is still S-Tier after the nerf if you skill Radiance (plus you can buff it hard with the spell that increases holy damage; 800-1000 damage per light swing with that range and speed is insane, plus it can smite).

Otherwise: it depends on your attributes. Kukajin's Sword is pretty popular due to the bleed and poison buildup, especially in combination with that bloodbane ring (so poison also builds up some bleed)

Arent you supposed to dual wield it with 1 pieta to get the special effect? i thought it gave some aoe or something. but i never actualy tested it.

they both have individual AoE when fully upgraded at the cost of lamp charges if i recall correctly

Pieta's Sword was not nerfed. The new +10 does the exact same damage as the old +5 before the patch.

The Lightreaper Sword got a crazy buff (more than 60% damage increase). It has 169 phys + 169 fire base damage at lvl 10 and A scaling both in Agility and Inferno. Pieta's, on the other hand, has 163 holy base damage and A- scaling in Radiance (as I wrote: same as before the patch). So Pieta's has smite and some range advantage, but deals way lower damage than the Lightreaper swords.

I use my Pieta with the Ravager Greatshield (Heavy Memento would be better, but it's way too bulky for my taste) and the runes I use in the shield are "no weight/requirements", "less wither damage after blocking" and "mana regeneration". I also got 600+ spellpower with the Exacter Scripture Catalyst

--> I always got mana for the spells "radiant weapon" (damage buff) and "Sanctify" (holy ground for constant heal+cleanse) plus my defense is through the roof compared to dualwielding. I don't have the highest DPS possible, but this setup is definitely easymode.

All the short swords/axes with good scaling/elemental effects are doing great. They have a very nice moveset that follows up very quickly.

I found a video of the special effect near the end. Looks cool, I'll have to try it sometime.
