Problem with Boss Shield of the Hushed Saint NO 3 Rune Slots after max Upgrade Item

I decided to upgrade this shield on max level (+5), so i have 3 rune slots on it.
at gerlinde's (the blacksmith) place (skyrest brücke) i had been given the upgrade information:
cost, 1 Deralium Chunk
=> 3 rune slots incl. other upgrades.

Problem:
I did NOT get the promised upgrade on this item, but the Deralium Chunk is gone.
Please fix this and give me compensation in the game

Maybe the same weapon upgrade problem like the other boss weapons on this boss shield? please check and confirm. thank you very much.

be aware of upgrading this boss shield to MAX until it is fixed.

i'm not quite sure what you mean, i already had 2 runes on this shield before this max level upgrade. so i was able to upgrade.

The number of rune slots you can have on a weapon/shield is limited by how many of the Rune Tablets you have handed into Gerlinde. The item will show that it will upgrade to three but it will have two until you hand in the third tablet.

Have you handed in all three tablets?

Not sure. How can i check if i handed 3 rune tablets or not?

why should a player be able to upgrade an item, spending in game currency (d chunks), and not been able to use the "paid and offered" upgrade? does that make sense?

He is saying there are two conditions to unlock the rune slots.

One is the upgrade level of the weapon/shield itself. The other is how many of the Rune Tablets you have given to the blacksmith.

If you have given her one tablet, you can only add one rune, even to a max level equip. If you have given her two tablets, you can only add up to two runes, even on a max level equip. If you give her all 3 rune tablets, then you can finally get that 3rd rune slot on your max level equip.

3 rune tablets exist in the game. You have to find all 3 and give all 3 to the blacksmith.

even if the upgrade preview of the weapon shows 3 rune slots you need to find and give all the rune tablets to Gerlinde before you can use all of them, the last one is in the tower of penance.

im guessing he didnt get the tower of penance one because that is the hardest of them to find i myself didnt find it untilll my second play through

It was the only one I found on my own. I had to look up the other two.

Yes, this is correct. just in my last game session i discovered this location (tower büse).
In case of that, i expect the third rune slot should be shown up as soon this 3. rune tablet is found and handed to gerlinde. might be the solution i guess.
