Pilfered Coins / Multiplayer economy isn't great
Really love the flexibility LOTF offers to play the entire game seamlessly with your friends. However if you're accompanying random players (via multiplayer) the time vs cost benefit doesn't work out a lot of time.

-50% of the time I'm summoned to help folks with boss fights which gives you Pilfered Coins and boss soul rewards.
-50% of the time I'm summoned to help grind a level or get someone to a bonfire. While fun, that nets 0 Pilfered Coins and depending on the area, can be not very profitable on souls.

Over time, I think this is an issue that's going to get worse (as the player base reduces and wait time increases) and could actually discourage people from wanting to play multiplayer with randoms.

For the 2nd case, I hope the Devs consider a consolation mechanism to leave you with some bonus pilfered coins if you invested enough time or progress in a public multiplayer session. Maybe they show up by the hammock the next time you rest.

My two cents (or Pilfered Coins),

Pilfered coins are fine so long as you play with someone who actually does bosses but outside of that it's not great ya, however the plucked eyes are horrendous
Slabs should have costed no more than 50 coins.

There is no guarantee that you are summoned to a boss.
There is no guarantee that you will kill the boss before you get kicked.
And the wait for Coop is significantly longer than the one for pvp.
I mean it also depends on if you group up with someone specifically or not
In case you didn't know, The pilfered coins are shared between the characters you created. So start a new character and keep that character low level and you will be summoned to fight the first boss over and over. I kept helping people fight Pieta on my low level character until I got enough pilfered coins that I wanted and then loaded my higher level character to use the coins. hope this helps.

Hmmm… well that’s an interesting life hack. Thanks for sharing.

They need a better long term solution though for the ‘Average Andy’ playing.

but what you forgot to tell people is that you have to watch the 2 minutes video all over again :D
I don`t do any coop or pvp. I stay in sp in normally all the games I play. I`d like to have a way to earn currency to purchase the items from the pilfered coin shop in sp. I get the lanterns in my sp game but they only give 3 plucked eyeballs a shot and the tincts are 100 eyeballs a pop. Not to mention I can`t buy anything from the coin merchant with eyeballs.

If you want slabs and you have a character in NG+, you can just keep resetting the playthrough after picking up the dev reimbursement from skyrest. It takes like 15 minutes and you get the whole bundle every time, including the 2 slabs.
I've yet to co-op, so not sure about Pilfered Coins in particular, but *cough cough* "people in Australia" get a big advantage. Their Tincts are worth 50 of a resource instead of 100, and I can fully confirm that in "Australia", you get 150 Plucked Eyeballs and 150 Severed Hands for doing the respective task, so I wouldn't be surprised if you also get 150 Pilfered Coins instead of whatever the low amount is...

*Cough*

The dark souls games let you farm covenant items off enemies if you didn't want to mess with pvp. That would be a nice alternative.

Only exception being the duel covs in DS2. But their rewards could be picked up in NG+2 from a vendor.

is that why I mostly just get invited to help with the radiant ending boss fight? I cant actually help with earlier ones because of the level?
the coins are fine and all the issue is the matchmaking and playersbase you can spent 3h to find a match sometimes. making the shrine very useless/too expensive at the current state of the game(early dying symptoms)
