Is there a way to get connected consistently? Me and my buddy got connected 2 times out of so many tries.

due to internet stability you will always find some disconnections between you and someone , but the game is intended to be played (on coop) full time until someone leave or disconnect due to internet error

Well, that doesn't help. We tried about 50 times and only got connected 2 times.

First time he (PC) joined me (PS5) and yesterday I (PS5) joined him (PC).

But all the other tries failed. Sometimes he gets some connections tries but they fail continously ("disconnected from the host").

could be wrong but i'm pretty sure the online service is on peer to peer so problem should be either you , him or both.

I think cross platform play is still struggling, they've mentioned they are still working on it so hopefully it'll work much better for you sooner rather than later

Nah, definitely neither.

What seems to help is deactivating cross play and deleting the passwort in settings. search to kill lampbearer and successful connection try again.
