I would suggest the following:
1. Pick a spot where there is enough free room to move around to prevent Reaper getting stuck and forced to reset (this will heal it)
2. Try to avoid targetting, ie. locking on, other targets than Reaper.
3. Do not disengage from the fight for too long, try to hit it reqularly to keep your aggro.
I was able to kill Scarlet Shadow 6 times in a row yesterday during my testing run after the patch was deployed. I also killed him few times today when I spent too much time in Umbral. I'm strong enough to kill it relatively fast in NG+1 so that might help me. The fight usually does not take longer than 2 minutes at maximum.
I'm aware of the healing when moving to a vestige but this issue is definitely not the case now.
Got yah. That's annoying if its happening a lot. Are there particular areas it's happening? I haven't been farming much lately, so maybe just not noticing it. Helps to be able to make it happen sometimes. Just to document a cause. Unless the devs are already aware of the cause.
Gotcha, let's hope they fix it soon. I can kill it but sometimes it refuses to fight and just regain all of his health. Suck to be low on umbral scourings right now. Anyway, thanks for the clarification
