Umbral anywhere is still the fastest non-Co-Op method I'm aware of, but you have to learn the new behavior of The Scarlet Shadow. Early game, by bell door you eventually unlock still works well in Umbral. Still early game, the Belltower still works well. Late game, any area works as long as you're comfortable with either ignoring or offing TSS. Not saying to cheese TSS BTW, but it's still getting stuck in places. Was hoping that patch actually meant what it said, but nope.

Off TSS at least once and equip the eye it drops to get TSS and your multiplier up faster. Equip the Moth Ring, or rings if you have 2. Equip Vitality farming runes to your weapons. Sorry if I'm saying anything you already know. Keep in mind if you're 2 handing a main weapon, the debuffs from the runes on your secondary weapon don't seem to impact damage to your main.

If you want to off bosses later, add me and you can run through some bosses with me. You'll get the Pilfered coins or whatever to boot. Cleaning up some things on my main before I try to speedrun the game. So can't say when I'll be ready exactly but can always do runs on the weekend if you let me know when.
Go to the bellroom bonfire at pilgrims perch, run directly passes the bucket head and off the cliff, hell follow and die, you respawn and get vigor. rinse and repeat,

Where does he get stuck

Seems they fixed that and made it harder to kite without making him stick

Haven't fully tested it, but it's still having trouble if the player is on any terrain they're not supposed to be. Generally causes TSS to stay in the ground animation, however, if it's near an object that causes it to pop out, it wont stay in the ground animation. Some L-shapes on intended walking areas and almost all U-shapes will cause the AI to get stuck. Player attacks can cause it to warp, but not all player attacks. It's also spawning under the terrain in some areas. That Bell vestige, forgot what it's called, has one such area under it where the elevator leads it. You can stand on a beam, and TSS wont follow. Stand outside of its attacking range, and it'll never stay in the ground animation, but also wont be able to connect with the player.

Not sure how much I wanna explain with this, because I'm only testing things. I'm not actually using the cheeses, guess I'm calling them that for now.

These issues exist on the other Scarlet Shadow or what people are calling I think The Bringer of Stillness. They also exist in the AI for most other enemies. AI basically doesn't know how to get to player on those shaped paths. Really wish they just gave TSS a ranged attack, rather than causing it to heal hide or whatever it's doing now.

Anyway, you can walk away from most of TSS attacks. Just get use to that, and then run around areas observing how it behaves.

TSS also can't handle slight platform differences. You can stand on some areas that're probably about a meter or 3 feet below it, where you're outside its range of attacks. Attack it to your hearts content knowing it can't actually touch you. Sadly isn't programmed to move from its static locations. Also sadly is programmed to do it's ground launch attack back to back in this use case.

Umbral in the first boss arena or pietas arena are safe bets. Focus on chasing down the moth ladies since each of them give like 1k vigor at base 1.0 multiplier.
