How do I get back from this spot?

I had to jump to get here but I can't jump back on the platform, it's too high. There's no path forward from here that leads to a flowerbed or vestige, everything is locked off. Do I seriously just have to kill myself?

Ah, you think you're stuck just like I did once. If you go back up the elevator behind you, take a careful look with your Umbral Lamp where there is seemingly a dead end. You can actually walk with the lamp out (NOT going into Umbral itself) and position yourself so when you stop using it, you'll fall down onto a platform below. From here, you can continue! Let me know if you need some better directions, just add me on Steam.

Omg this helped me so much. Thank you! I was seriously considering just letting 8k xp go and moving on to a different area. Would have been so sad haha
