Wither damage bad?
For single weapons? It feels like I need to do an extra hit to enemies because the hit that should have killed em just leaves a big bar of wither damage instead. On my umbral build character, I was using Rosamunds sword. The scaling was great and all, but it always felt like it just wouldn't kill field enemies when it should've.

I wanted to make a build that uses Ravager Gregory's Sword, but when I saw it was split with wither damage, I was kind of bummed.

I used that sword and it is amazing, a simple kick will eat all the wither damage, but i was getting a lot of soul lantern finishers due to the high wither damage too.

Cool. Thanks for the input. There may still be hope yet.

That Ravager sword wither is not a massive problem since it is a small part of the whole package and you remove the wither with every hit. Although, it might be annoying when enemies survive with 1% hp as wither and you just start to think, wouldn't it be nicer if it had just anything else instead that wither damage and the enemy in question would be dead already.

Sometimes you get finishers too but not that often.

Yeah, I really don't like wither damage. Probably not bad for bosses, and may be good for dual wielding fast weapons. But out in the field I think it's bad.

Don't wither weps generally do higher damage to compensate though?

I think it just looks like that on paper. I think the higher damage is part of the wither damage that doesn't do actual damage until you hit them again. Making you have to hit a random enemy 3 times instead of 2. In my experience.

I could be very wrong. But that's what it felt like.

Put a different weapon in your right hand that way when the left hits with wither the right immediately takes it away. Or buff your weapon with poison/fire so when the damage from that ticks it will take it away.

Wither damage weapons are great if you are trying to farm runes though.

Yeah that seems about the best way to do it.

Maybe there's something about wither damage I don't understand or something. I know the game usually scales with you so you never have a really strong edge against the enemies. But for some reason it always felt like it'd take one extra hit to kill them because of the split damage (being wither) that kept them alive.
