Weapons: Double Putrid Child Swords + Sunken Beseecher Umbral Catalyst
Spells: Umbral Orb, Umbral Weapon, Graveyard fog, Diminishing Missile, Martyrdom.
Armor: Putrid Child Head, Putrid Child Legs, Harrower Armor, Harrower Gauntlets
Accessories: Faceless Carving, Ring of Night's Fire, Mineowner's Ring
I also have the Umbral Eye of the Bloody Pilgrim on because its amazing paired with the dual putrid child swords and withered weapon spell buff, makes bosses melt, easy to clean up with a cheap umbral orb or a kick.
You "Could" run a full caster umbral with the necklace that makes umbral spells give you withered health after you magic runs out and then just use a shield and ring for health regen and go full caster, its alot easier to stack health regen than mana regen.
This is my second Umbral Character, its is VERY basic and is by far more fun than my original that was more Sword and Board with some withering mixed in, its very Hybrid between Melee and Magic and can be converted with just a few Pendant/Ring swaps to be fully either full melee or ranged mage.
I'd MUCH more interest you in the Melted Dark Crusaders Sword, and getting a second one if you can get someone to drop you one as you only get 1 per playthrough, because its a phys/wither shortsword that when fully upgraded gets 3 Meta rune slots, which means ANY rune from ANY category can be slotted there. so if you want more split Inf/Rad scaling for more melee damage, go for it, if you want health on strike stacked on them, go for it, anything you want.
Quick question, assuming that RAD and INF are gonna be the main stats that keep increasing,
How does 2 Elliane swords (Purple lightsaber) or
1 Pieta 1 Elliane sound? Would it be viable?
Pieta gets Radiant/Radiant/Meta and scales with Radiance only, missing out on Inferno points altogether...
Elliane gets Radiant/Inferno/Meta and scales with Radiance Only, missing out on Inferno points altogether as well.
While flashy and the go to pick for every player in the game, def not prime build weapons for an umbral build because you are missing out entirely on inferno points contributing and you are splitting your damage even further. this is why i went putrid child swords or melted dark crusader swords, you only do Physical and Wither instead of Physical, Wither, and Holy. The more damage types you tack on the less damage over all you will get in the end because you are hitting more of a boss/opponents resistances.
If going Melee, go for 50 Vit then put stats in INF/RAD. END if you need extra stamina or weight for any particular armor.
if going Ranged/Mage, go for 30 Vit, then Dump INF/RAD. Wear Light/Low Medium weight armor and less END.

X2 Venom daggers/pickaxe (i like more daggers)
The bee pendant, the bleed added to poison ring and the ring who be able cast fire with other catalyst and the spells was the fire hammer adyr robust, poison weapon, poison cloud and the spear from the saint boss
Work really good and you can swap the poison/bleed ring and cloud if you dont like it
But for me the run was very fun and the build work really well, exellent over my initial expectation about how go to work
the starting catalyst i keep over the sunken little doll shaped one, its got high base damage, and will serve you well to +8, where it ups to C+ scaling.
keeping that until get the one that looks like a bent over light blue conch, 'lost berescu something or other' its called.
This build is my future, I didn't know it when I chose the umbral ending expressly for the Putrid Child but oncethe first fungal pick axe dropped there was no other path forward. I'm looking forward to the next run.
basically all you need
