I think the worst thing about UE5 is the high requirements regarding CPU.

I mean, a i7 8700 is the "recommended" cpu, so it means it's just above minimum. Probably it still falls somewhat short. And in my opinion, a i7 8700 is still a quite powerful CPU. So it's obvious that UE5 is quite unoptimized.

I mean the 8700 is beat by today's i3 in games so it's not that great by today's standards, technology moves along and so must your PC hardware.

just be thankful this game doesn't seem to be optimized around the use of DLSS, which seems to be more common where DLSS is not used as a way to get more frames on top but a way to get acceptable frames. Making execs foam at the mouth to cut the optimization part of development short.

8700 is also weaker than the cpu in the ps5. So yes, as you said, if you want to play the latest games on pc you have to expect to have hardware that surpasses the current consoles at least.

if you use DLSS/FSR/XESS on quality mode on 1080p you're actually running 720p , kind of the same with 1440p with balanced mode.

I know, but even AC6 has a minimum of a 1650 which isn't far from a 1060, that was the point, a 1060 should be considered a very old and cheap card.
