Second, its an Unreal Engine 5 title, so yes, games using this engine are naturally going to require beefier system specs
How dare a game in 2023 require you to have a system that was made the last 9 years as a bare minimum requirement to play the game. What a travesty! Woe is me! I had 9 years to update my system and now I can't even play a current day game.
Am I out of touch?
No. It's the developers who are wrong.
I mean, a i7 8700 is the "recommended" cpu, so it means it's just above minimum. Probably it still falls somewhat short. And in my opinion, a i7 8700 is still a quite powerful CPU. So it's obvious that UE5 is quite unoptimized.
Can add Jedi Survivor which has a GTX 1070 as minimum and the UE5 remake of Layers of Fear and Returnal to that list.
