Beating the tutorial boss *spoilers*

So I found two videos of people beating the tutorial boss:

The rewards are 18k Souls
1x Vestige Seed
25x Umbral Scouring
1x Lightreaper Flesh
1x The Lightreaper's Umbral Parasite
EDIT, Added missed items:
2x Umbral Scouring (total of 27)
1x Remembrance of the light reaper

Does anyone know what these items equate to?

I am trying to decide if its going to be worth it for me to fight this boss for hours until I beat him or not...

I assume The seed is itemized souls
I think the Scouring is "boss weapon" currency, but I am not sure how much currency that actually is in practice

The flesh and parasite have me thrown for a loop though, is one of them equivalent of a "boss soul?" and what is the other for?

Vestige seed is an item you can use to make your own bonfires at specific locations designated for that.

The boss soul is actually not in the list as the OP missed 2 items when the streamers pulled the soul out of the boss (which is a requirement to get the boss soul).

You get 2 more umbral scouring and you also get remembrance of the lightreaper (this is most likely the boss soul)

There is an achievement for him (you can hear it pop on the first vid) so maybe it's the only time you can get it like Unspeakable Deep boss in Salt and Sanctuary? As for the items I guess we'll see soon enough.

Thanks for the clarification...
So the Seed is a bonfire creator (at certain locations)
The Scouring are boss soul currency
The remembrance is likely the boss soul

That leaves:
1x Lightreaper Flesh
1x The Lightreaper's Umbral Parasite

Which we don't have any idea what they do?

Damn, that is a lot of stuff.... But that boss soaks so much damage, minimum 10 minutes of fighting the damn thing, and I can only afford to screw up one or two times...

Ooof, that is a tall order....

You might be able to ALT+F4 right as you are about to die to prevent auto save, but otherwise a tutorial reset will be required...

You appear to get a good chunk of stuff from beating him early...

Heck yeah, I'm going to try, he feels like the Demon Souls tutorial boss, Genichiro 1st time, Mortal Shell 1st boss, or Salt & Sanctuary, he may even make the game easier, absolutely worth killing IMHO

Also, parrying him is not worth the risk at all, you basically have to no-hit him and he has three progressively harder phases. Also, it might've been a bug, but in the second or third phase his lock on can break temporarily whenever he summons his wyvern thingy.

I was looking at making a Preacher or the Dark Crusader anyway (taking off gear to make me medium instead of heavy)....

But damn, I am not sure if it is worth the pain, I guess we will see how I feel on release...

Unga Bunga Wolf may be able to do it faster, he is the one with most str right? just play perfect and DPS ;-)

The problem is I haven't seen this boss beaten in less than 7 minutes of near perfect play...

Everyone that HAS beaten him that has a video has used preacher (which I assume the radiant damage on the hammer is what makes it so good)

So he is going to be even HARDER for any other class option...

I think I will probably go Dark Crusader, and fight him 20 or so times and see if I feel I am making enough progress to keep trying...

Rememberance gives you the chance to obtain boss weapons. The are 2 agl+fire skimitars, spear and spell if i remember it right

No he is actually a mid-late boss and he harasses you throughout the game.

After messing with the tutorial boss, I have concluded there is NO WAY I am going to succeed at this during the tutorial mission and will just have to deal with him later during the story.
