They are making the game easier
If you read the latest patch notes, they are making some aspects of the game easier because people are complaining about it.

Devs shouldn't change anything other than performance. We should only be getting fixes and updates related to improving how the game runs.

It seems that the large amount of players complaining about how hard the game is on the forums is making the devs pull back on the difficulty a bit. Kind of annoying to be honest. The game isn't that hard, it's just like playing Dark Souls 1.

If the Devs continue to listen to the part of the community that complains about difficulty and having trouble progressing in the game, we will eventually get a game that is far easier than it was at launch. Personally I don't want that. I like the way it is.

As is tradition.

They are tweaking mob density, as in taking some enemies out of encounters (Or so they say.) but the main thing that happened this patch, was enemies won't attack consistently in one encounter. Most notably the dogs. I saw that and was like, comon lol, just block or dodge people. Saw it myself earlier and not a fan but eh, it is what it is.

i did also see a person say they are a "souls like" vet but they struggled on pieta lol.... i (a mage main) who usually struggles early in souls games literally killed her first try because of how easily telegraphed her moveset is

Lol

if they think this game is hard try lies of P.....but what they need to fix is how the ai gets stuck on crap and just stops doing anything really since its stuck cause this happens for boss's as well

NG changes with vestiges are good but not good enough yet. The rest of it with mob density, frequency of attacks etc I do not agree. The game is not hard in first place its just hard for people who do not utilise all the tools available to them.

Meh. SO far they just adjusted absurd enemy chase distance values and made it so Vestiges will be less present with each NG+. Hardly anything I'd consider making the game 'easier'. Tedium and difficulty aren't the same thing.

They also lowered the enemy density.

Ah yes, you mean the dodgs that tend to spawn in groups of 4 and consitently attack relentlessly while you are being sniped by 4+ crossbowmen? Yeah,it was totally fine. This is what I mean when I speak of balance. Something his community clearly don't understand.

They are making so there are less enemies in the areas "players struggle with" according to the latest patch notes. Probably going to continue to cater towards players who claim they are "Dark Souls experts".

I've seen so many bad players who just don't dodge, block, etc and they just swing wildly until they get hit back. Those types of players are the ones complaining that the game is too hard. Also seen people post many threads about how Pieta is too hard. When she's really not.

Which is fine. Their level design was just basically shoving 20 enemies in a small square.
Just go where the blacksmith is locked, you get to the door at the end of the hallway and open it.
You're greeted by 2 mages, 3 crossbowmen, a sword and board paladin and a dude with a grand sword that casts constant HP regen.
This is just too crowded. This ain't smart enemy placement, its just shoving as much as possible to overwhelm unaware players.
Encounters like these are what is wrong.

Actual difficulty is 100% subjective. You could struggle on something I will not struggle with, does that make your experience invalid? No. So take that attitude outside with the trash.
That's what is really wrong with this community. Instead of accepting people and helping out, always gotta be a douche.

I don't think the difference between easier and fair. The game was overtunned in certain places, and just made the exploration, and the reward for defeating those combat non existent.

Here are two examples, from top 1% of top 1% players.

If he finds this frustrating how do you think the average joe will fare there. It's obviously ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Also if you think the hitting 100 mobs one time, or hitting 1 mob 100 times is hard you are also clearly delusional with what is being hard. Is not hard, it is just boring.
