Until you get a certain thing which gives you a means to use ammo infinitely. At a certain point in the game melee becomes mostly obsolete.
I think devs balanced these weapons like if it was Dark souls, but this game do the whole throwing mechanics less clunky than one. So you are almost all the time out of danger because you can dodge, free aim and refill ammo all you want.
There has to be a good and bad side on every build , otherwise it wouldnt make no sense to even try to build one.
On the other hand you have LoTF , where with just 1 axe throw you take 1/12 of boss HP and you can get far from them pretty easily , they even wont gonna dodge any of your shots.
Something its clearly off
And this game have a competitive gameplay , it has like 3 stores of items you have to grind with special coins you get while doing MP stuff , you should know that if you played the game.
Having MP enable means you can get invaded , even if that parts of the game dont suit you. Its there and its unbalanced
Just a guess here.
