throwable weapons are too OP?
i passed half of the game throwing axes and hammers , something is wrong here. A secondary weapon should not do 700+ damage

My Lava Burst (or whatever it's called) deals 1600 dmg and my mana regenerates over time. Throwables are just a non-elemental version of that, nothing wrong with their damage. You have a limited quantity anyway.

Until you get a certain thing which gives you a means to use ammo infinitely. At a certain point in the game melee becomes mostly obsolete.

nah they're fine, they're part of a STR/AGI player's repertoire. magic users can use OP spells to deal lots of damage from a safe distance, why can't non-magic users also have some good ranged options?

I found the item, I get the feeling it's going to get nerfed at some point XD Still, ammo pouches were a thing even before.

Damage heavy crossbow + Ring that reloads when you dodge = shooty fun time.
Game and weapon balance is bad right now. Wait and see if the devs will fix this problem.

funny you said that , spells are unbalanced too , specially on PVP

if im running around the stages throwing axes instead of using my dual spears , something its clearly wrong.
I think devs balanced these weapons like if it was Dark souls, but this game do the whole throwing mechanics less clunky than one. So you are almost all the time out of danger because you can dodge, free aim and refill ammo all you want.

If I'm running around throwing fireballs instead of using my big stick, something it's clearly wrong /s Let people have fun with all kinds of builds, why do you insist of forcing your feelings upon the game?

builds have to be balanced, theres no points of having 50 differents build and all are OP on everything.
There has to be a good and bad side on every build , otherwise it wouldnt make no sense to even try to build one.
KoD Oct 23, 2023 @ 12:33am
They really don't, this is not a competitive multiplayer game. That is exactly the point, to have 50 OP builds, so everyone can find something for their playstyle. Either by big bonk, 100 cuts dex builds, spells or anything in between, the game should feel fun. You can always restrict yourself, if you want a challenge, but the community will always do theorycrafting to optimize builds.

i mean, on elden ring or DS , you can use a bow , bombs or magic , but when you are fighting someone that is strong ( a boss for example) , those build become too risky. They can dodge your shots or get to you pretty easily , it has this good/bad thing that is fine.
On the other hand you have LoTF , where with just 1 axe throw you take 1/12 of boss HP and you can get far from them pretty easily , they even wont gonna dodge any of your shots.
Something its clearly off

its not about using restrictions to play, IT HAS TO BE A CHALLENGE ITS A SOULSLIKE , theres no point of going around cheesing everything , and im not even talking about exploits , just normal gameplay.
And this game have a competitive gameplay , it has like 3 stores of items you have to grind with special coins you get while doing MP stuff , you should know that if you played the game.
Having MP enable means you can get invaded , even if that parts of the game dont suit you. Its there and its unbalanced

Part of the problem they're experiencing, I think, is that they're 'building' to be a 'melee build' but their throwing weapon just outclasses using their melee weapons and makes using them obsolete.

Just a guess here.

You're too conditioned by fromsoft's take on these types of games. Ranged options aren't a secondary option in this game. Pure throwing/casting builds are viable, and there are tools and builds that exist to give you infinite ammo/mana, and thats not even counting consumables.
