Dear Devs please disable the "Exit to Main Menu" button when invaded
People keep abusing this. They are avoiding being invaded and getting the online rewards by avoiding the risks. Please look into the devs. Thanks

PVP in this game is pretty broken whether people want to accept it or not. I am starting to feel like in all these patches but no real PVP balancing it probably always will be.

For all you people who are legit and not just trying to press one button and win. I feel bad for you. There's a huge amount of people ruining invasions for you.

I've been a good sport throughout. I've never DC'd from an invasion and I don't intend to. Let me tell you that the amount of people I encounter who have zero skill, take next to no damage and just one shot me with a single swing or spell is disproportionately high.

Being in an invasion zone is starting to feel like a even worse version of spending too much time in Umbral. Where if you linger too long, the person invading you is just some overpowered spectre there to reset your progress. At least I feel like I have a slim chance when my dread timer ticks over.

I have encountered lots of spell casters who are just using Lucent Beam to perfectly track you through your dodge rolls, can't be interrupted and kill you in 1-2 ticks. I encounter lots of melee who just don't even try to really dodge or block and just try to land a single killing blow with various big weapons. Even when I parry or dodge their attacks, even if I smack them a whole bunch. It has very little impact and they can just keep resetting and trying again and again until it works.

I have had less than a handful of invasions that felt legit, where an actual battle took place and victory felt earned or the person using the above mentioned mechanics actually took damage and got real lucky or punished.

I fully understand why people are dodging more and more. Blame your fellow invaders.

This is my exact experience with the PVP aswell, very disappointing as I bought the game specifically because I love invading/being invaded in these games.

Play offline or play the game as its intended.

Let me guess, you're someone that benefitted from duping skulls so you could max out your level to invade low levels, and now you're just sad that you can't grief.

No, who hurt you? Someone is projecting are you new to souls games or something? Or was co-op mod Elden Ring your only outing into the genre before now? Play the game as intended or play offline, simple as that. Yes the balancing is non-existing but thats no excuse to ruin it for people who genuinely want to play.

You say "Genuinely" wants to play, but you see. The main menu button is completely usable in any given scenario, so that is just using what the developers gave us. You invade, you use a meta build, you see the loading screen. It's not rocket science.

I had someone invade me yesterday with a bleed build, bloody hatchets, bleed on their weapons, dual wielding. We had a fun fight. Adversely I've had people invade with dual pieta sabers and he just slashed through me like tissue paper. I'm good, you guys can just keep looking for someone to fight, but until you get a thought in your head that doesn't derive from a youtube/twitch video/clip, I will continue to remove you.

I mean, you're totally new to souls games if you think having the ability to invade forever downwards means people are going to be accepting of PvP.

And as for not ruining it for people who want to genuinely play? Try not invading then until the devs fix the pvp issue. Ain't no fun getting invaded and being literally unable to kill someone due to their high defense and passive health regen while they just poise through all attacks to land a single heavy to kill you in one-shot.

I just like invading & being invaded, hopefully balancing systems & better anti cheat conditions get implemented quickly. However some people are just weak willed (that goes both ways) & don't play the game in the spirit it was intended to be experienced in & that winds me up because it ultimately it lessens the experience for those that do.

The game isn't even designed to have invasions in the spirit of the genre. There's a reason that invaders got limitations placed on them with each subsequent soulsborne game. Now there's no limits so max level characters can invade a new player, blocking their ability to leave umbral, place seedlings or even recover their vigor. In such a scenario, that player has no hope of overcoming the invader, and even if the invader was the same level, the host is in a time limit until dread fills completely.

Better yet, disable invasions altogether!

The funny thing is, being able to disable the PvP nonsense means the only people engaging in PvP are the ones who legit WANT the interaction and are unlikely to disconnect or quit.

But that's the thing, as I learned playing MMOs for 2 decades (including a 7 year stint in EVE), the number one thing PvPers hate and avoid more than anything else.. is another PvPer.

They want to clap someone uninterested or unprepared for a fight, not to have a good honest 1v1 as a test of skill.
During my time on Eve my mini mining fleet was constantly harassed by roaming PvPers.
But man did they flee in a hurry when I undocked my PvP fits.
The funniest one was a guy who had been harassing the pipe for an hour, right up until I nearly nailed him on my gate and he fled 10 systems over.

They don't want good fights, they want easy fights.
True in MMOs and even more true in souls likes.
Doesn't help that netcode in games like this is absolutely horrendous.

Git gud? How bout you lot who like PvP so much go fight each other and leave the rest of us alone?
Oh wait, you don't want to because then you might lose to someone better than you.
As a PvP enjoyer, this is sadly very true. I take no pleasure from one sided encounters, quite the contrary. But alot of my peers definitely think differently.

Just because you don't like ti doesn't mean devs have to adjust the game.
