Stuck lever in pilgrims perch I never found a use for?

In pilgrims perch in the area that has the hallowed sentinel scripture, there was a lever thats "stuck", and i've never found a use for it. is there an elevator or something you can find super far in the game that comes back to this spot or something?

If you are referring to the big ole area with cages then yes that is later in the game. You can actually go there now if you have a certain key and open the bell door.

Yes that is later in the game when you start climbing up the cliff but the mobs are higher level and will hit hard. It's doable but easier if you have gear upgraded to +9 which you should have if you cleared Calrath and Fog Den.

There are multiple shortcuts early on that I thought, Did I miss something? But it turns out they are all connected to later stages in the game. There is a gate at the bottom of Pilgrim's Perch that connects to Calrath for example. It opens quite late.
