Save game?
Hi. The graphic is fantastic, and exploring the world in different dimensions is excellent. But why do game designers turn off the save game feature? Why is there no automatic save game before the boss area for new players (1st playthrough)? I was running around, killing creepy bastards, until I found a lady with a sun sword who crushed me with two swings. And there is no possibility of getting the energy from that area, nor resources I spent trying to defeat her for a few hours. Is this approach (no save game option) standard for all souls-like games?

Yes, it's a core feature of this genre. Your progress is saved if you exit the game, i.e. your character will be in the same spot when you continue.

The save feature of other games is replaced here with the "bloodstain" (term from DS), or the spot where your lost vigor accumulates and where you need to interact to recover it.
Enemies (except bosses) that kill you will absorb the vigor you lost, forcing you to defeat them for its recovery.

There is, however, a rare consumable item called a Vigor Moth, that protects you from losing your vigor when dying. It's one-use only, however, so you need one again if you die. It can help in dire situations where you feel that the chance of death is higher.

Good luck!

Nah don’t avoid it. It’s a fantastic genre. Avoiding it because it does something you’re not used to a silly thing to do. Besides, these games are designed for this and reward you in other ways. It’s generally easy to get back what you lose in most cases.

I've played 300 hours in Elden Ring, and it was a fantastic experience. However, in the Elden Ring, it was clear that there was a boss fight ahead, so I could prepare - spend my energy and return to the previous locations to check if I didn't miss anything. In the Lords of the Fallen, on Pieta, I lost 5 hours of my gameplay - all energy and resources. Maybe it's an excellent idea, but only a few can make it work properly without pissing off their customers.
