Gerlinde or sparky? (Might contain spoilers)

Well if you free Sparky, you can upgrade your weapons at vestiges. And you do the right thing by freeing him. No one likes slavery, amirite.

But if you talk to Gerlinde, she will raise the price of her items and basically tells you to fug off.

Gerlinde, you get a really OP rune if used with the right weapon/shield, plus new stock in here store. Sparky give you the weapon upgrade at vestiges which I don't really find super useful maybe worth getting on NG+ or ++.

The results of your choice:

If you chose Gerlinde you get a single unique rune that will remove all weight and the stat requirement of the item it's slotted into. It's diamond shaped, so can only go into such weapons or shields.

If you chose Sparky You gain the ability to upgrade weapons and slot gems at any vestige you visit and Sparky runs off. After this Gerlinde will get pissed and double her prices if you use the talk option with her again. Personally I find the ability to upgrade at any vestige more convenient than the one-off rune, but thats just me.

the only reason to chose sparky is if you got for one of the ending where gerlinde cannot give you service anymore so you want to be able to do the weapon upgrades in the vestige

The question about this, beside the obvious benefit of Gerlinde giving better rewards, is Sparky evil or not? Gerlinde does not seem to be good on the surface, but what if Sparky needs to eat babies.... His slavery may have been earned.

If you choose to free Sparky does that ability transfer to NG+? Like... can I speed-run a NG+0 to get the sparky benefit and then send him to the glue factory for a 2nd rune later?

gerlinda is the only viable chose as the rune is op. you can wear heavy ass weapon or shield without it adding to your weight and meeting the stats required. sparky just gives utility for 1 playthrough. wich doesnt hold much value. only do sparky if you want the achievement
