If you get all 3, you can give the 3rd to Sparky to free him for that achievement and get the ability to upgrade your gear and equip runes as Vestiges. however, if you do that, Gerlinde gets very upset at you and doubles the prices on everything in her shop.
you also miss out on a rune that when slotted makes the weapon/shield have 0 requirements and 0 weight if you give the 3rd rune to sparky.
Technically, when you upgrade weapons or socket runes at a vestige, enemies dont respawn. So you could technically just run back to a vestige and swap runs out for certain enemies and not lose any progress. Teleporting on the other hand, makes enemies respawn when you return, effectively making you restart the area. And if you just cleared a tough enemy thats been hard, and find a few upgrade materials, you can upgrade and keep going without respawning that bad guy.
Its...small, but its a difference.
