Mothers Lull Help.

I can enter mothers lull. but when I am in I cant get across to use the platform. other videos shows of you using that pull thing to make it move forward. But not one there for me to get across? Any ideas?

It involves a relatively longish quest line. It's also a part of a specific ending. If you have cleansed any beacons whatsoever you're locked out of this ending. If you haven't, then fextralife has a very good guide on the endings of the game!
