Wasn't there another Lords of the Fallen game?
I am pretty sure there was another lords of the fallen game released a few years ago. I have it sitting on my library, never played it because of the fixed male protagonist and no character creator. My question is why is this game not called Lords of the Fallen 2 to avoid confusion?

This game takes place 1000 years after the events of the original game, so it could technically be considered a sequel. However, it was developed first and foremost as a complete reboot, so that is why it is not called "Lords of the Fallen 2". It's kinda like how Doom (2016) is a reboot to the franchise but also a pseudo sequel that seemingly takes place after Doom 3.
because if you play that poor abandoned game in your library, you will see that it had some great ideas, poor execution and was the first ever souls-like...

The reason its just LordsofTheFallen and not Lordsofthefallen2- is because there rebooting the whole franchise, its not a sequel its a reboot (but takes place years after the first game... story logic)

Amazing how technology hasn't evolved one bit in the span of a 1000 years.

This game was initially called "The Lords of the Fallen" but they recently dropped "The" from the title and renamed the original "Lords Of The Fallen (2014)"

Original was the first Soulslike clone and was insanely jank with crazy amounts of screen shake and lens flares, broken hit boxes and missing audio. When I originally played it in 2014 I had a bug where I was infinitely falling through the ground to my death so I never finished it. I only just installed it again the other day and powered through it just to say I finished it before the new one comes out lol.

You didn't play it because there was no character creator? You wore a helmet so possible to pretend you're a lizard from planet zarg, if it tickles you.

For some people it can just ruin their immersion. No doubt they got it in a sale or something so weren't too invested when they bought it.

Many games had a protagonist, Harkin was a gigachad, didn't you see his gestures when he says: I don't care? it was awesome, game of the year lip sync xD

And here I thought the original title was called 'Fall of the Lollen'. Jokes aside, I thought my memory was wrong and the original was maybe Lord of the Fallen and this one is Lord'S' of the Fallen like how the sequel to Alien was named Alien'S'.

I just redid the original and altough its a bit too easy and smaller then all the others in the same genre its still pretty good. Their exp banking concept with a multiplier if you dont makes a lot more sense then losing 3 zones worth of xp you need for one level due to janky platforming in the mainline dark souls. I also really appreciate the fact you could really have a tank build versus wearing all heaviest armor and getting 2shot.
