Dark crusader or the Spear guy??
im going to play co op with a friend.. this he is going ranger/bow...

i was planning on going with the dark crusader "the expensive edition caracter"...
BUT after taking a look at this video... it seems a bit over powered..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljt0f8pcY0o&ab_channel=Rubhen925

what im trying to ask i guess is,, do you peoples think it will be over powered through the entire game?.. or it it maybe more of a fun challange to go with any of the other caracters?..
the Spear guy seems interesting as a second choice...

I don't think any starting class is OP for whole game, maybe for very early game, that's if this game is anything like dark souls or elden ring, but if I was to decide, Dark Crusader is my pick, no contest, not because it is overpowered, but more like it lookss dope.

every single class do like 3-4 hits.. the dark does like 1-2 .. im just afraid to use it to the extent to where i have to restart again cause going in co op and dont want him to restart because of me lol.. i hope you are right.

That's due to the weapon, hard to say when you can find some good weapons in the game, but like in dark souls and elden, there were good weapons, op weapons were available at the very start if you knew what you are doing, due to open world nature of elden ring specifically.

I think you should compare Dark Crusader with the wolf class, I forgot the name, the sword is a greatsword and being used in two handed mode
just like dark crusader class I believe, but no game will only be "easy" for a couple hours at best, the moment you face a boss or mini boss, you will learn that you are not overpowered, again assuming based on souls game experience, but this is a faithful copy, so I think most likely similar.

have not played any of the others.. and i hope this game gets harder with time.
and you are right.. i compared it to the wolf, and its not a big difference. and a mini boss "the one that shoot red stuff" almost killed the dark one and he didnt do alot of dmg to it either..

so hopefully its only easy to use at the start.
i might try dark crusader then after all..

Wich one will you start with sir? = )

Poor man's Dark Crusader aka Hallowed Knight, I have only standard edition because the only thing I want out of deluxe is dark crusader stuff, which can be earned in-game later.

Or Wolf guy, can't see myself starting with any other class except those.

I'll probably either play exiled stalker or pyric cultist.

The stalker will be good early to mid game most likely with some issues later due to weak hits making combo's difficult. Will most likely have to rely on other things such DoT poison damage and stuns for example. Regardless, this looks like a fun class and like most games it will be a contender for fastest boss killing class.

The cultist will most likely be very weak early game but start to shine around mid game. Fire does 2 things well, DoT burn damage and lots of damage output in a wide area. Then a polearm to compliment, which is known for high damage to single target with good area damage and mob control. This class has endgame potential when used correctly.

Yeah pyromancy looks sick in this game.

Considering the dark crusader is a class meant for a second playthrough (where the player now has meta knowledge) it is obviously going to be easiest class in the first several hours of gameplay.

Out of all the classes available, the dark crusader STARTS with the highest physical defense rating (heavy ass armor), highest health & endurance with 12 starting strength. His heavies do 230 damage, regular attacks like 125.

Did I forget to mention he also starts with 11 radiance AND an amulet/ring (ring increases max strength & end) alongside a catalyst to be able cast magic buffs and use ranged bombs?

Of course though, mid-late game starting class will be mostly irrelevant.

Neither, buy the standard version and find a video that speaks about best starting classes for min-maxing, play the game, finish it and then unlock the X hidden classes, is more fun that way.

Spear is the best weapon ever concieved in the early stage of mankind up to medieval era. It's the best pick of course. But then it also about your personal preferences

for some reason i like sword alot more. more the 1/2 handed then the Big two handed ones..
but the spear guy looks quite fun.. but would be boring to play with ONLY spear the entire game.. i think swords are strength based??..

would like to try a flail aswell they look nice.

If it's like other souls game, you probably have dex swords like rapiers or Scimitar. The two big handed sword will probably be either strength base or magic if there is such a stats in this game
