from videos it seems only 3 ...

Extended gameplay presentation trailer from months ago shows that you can have 5 magic spells equipped. Early game is only 3.

There is also another if you manage to kill the tutorial boss (the real one) somehow. Good luck with that though, since he got 10k health.

Streamer Elajjaz beat this boss today . And according to screenshot from the store page you will fight him again later in the game .

Streamer Elajjaz beat this boss today . And according to screenshot from the store page you will fight him again later in the game .

Yep, I was there to witness it myself. There is speculation that he will be like a pursuer, but if you kill him right there on the spot you probably won't have to deal with him anymore unless there's more of him.

Three quest items + new cutscene and you can buy his weapons and armor from Npc which sell boss gear .

I placed everything in spoiler tags, check them if you want to see everything you get from him, though I might have missed a thing or two.

His remembrance, umbral parasite and flesh as well as 18k souls or whatever they're called in this game. If you got the patience to do it, I'd say it's well worth trying to kill him during the tutorial. You can get a lot from his remembrance, as it includes his weapons, armour as well as a spell.

The spell requires 35 in inferno to use, the swords and spear need 13 agility and inferno, daggers need 11 agility and inferno, and finally, shield needs 11 inferno to use. If you're going for a agility/inferno build, his gear early on is gonna be pretty huge early game.
