Need help, don't know where to go next... [SPOILERS] [SOLVED]

I did pretty much everything, but there are these roots which block the entrance.

From the root, back down the Path, there is an Arena-like round place, with a round sever grid.

Use you lamp to find something. If you cant find a glowing root in umbral, then you miss a boss before

In fact you will meet the lightReaper, The Final encounter is located in Upper Calrath after defeating boss guarding Adyr Hand located in Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters

I'm not sure, but I think,
You killed a boss and forgot to pick up the "rune of adyr"

So when climbing up the monastery, You fight a total of 2 minibosses before fighting the main big boss.

1st boss, is the irritating light mage. Keeps laser shooting and healing itself
2nd boss, is the other irritating spear shield maiden boss.

Go to where you fight the 2nd boss, and look at the alter and try to interact with it.
Check to see if you get an item called "rune of adyr"
Its like a red hand with 4 fingers, floating in the air above the alter


Or cleanse all the beacons and you should be able to open it.

I do have the Rune of Adyr, i also have the Chalice after defeating Justica and the special Umbra Seed for entering the Realm after defeating the boss in the dephts. Thats why its a bit odd that i don't get any directions in the game of what to do next, all the NPCs are useless. In Dark Souls, as cryptic as this game is, there is always a character that gives you vague directions of what to do next. :/

Thats probably it, looked around there a bit with the lamp, but didn't see anything. Thought this big arena with just a bunch of mobs was always odd to me.

Just to clarify 2nd boss and the Rune of Adyr part of above quote. You can not buy the 2nd boss without interacting with the rune. It is also very likely that Iron Wayfarer will join the fight-he did for me even after opening the gate to Bramis Castle-and steal the rune.

I could open the doors to Bramis castle without ever fighting 2nd boss in Abbey or holding the Rune of Adyr. I did not fight The Iron Wayfarer either as his quest-line is attached to Rune of Adyr, which I did not have. I have cleansed all the beacons.

I also cleansed all the beacons and i did fight the Iron Wayfarer and got his hammer but the roots still didn't budge. I still have to take a look at the arena near by, if that wont do anything, then i probably actually softlocked. D:

Beacon 1 : Swamp Area, horse boss
Beacon 2 : Frost Area, crow boss
Beacon 3 : Prison Area, Tancred
Beacon 4 : Monastery Area, Cleric boss
Beacon 5 : Upper Calrath Area, past the arena, straight ahead, then keep hugging left.
No boss per say, but you fight with lightreaper if you didn't kill him before.

You need to activate ALL 5 beacons before you can proceed with the door to the castle.

I did cleanse that one too which isn't guarded by a boss past the arena, yes. I wouldn't be surprised if something went wrong, i did go through the Pilgrim Path very early on, maybe it messed up some of the Progress Flags or maybe Co-Op did me dirty because i fought the big King (final boss?) there too and maybe messed something with my progress. I wouldn't be surprised, there is some weird jank with this game.

You need to kill the Lightreaper I believe. Go back to the arena place, where there is one Ruiner enemy, in the same map as the roots.

There is also a NPC who wants his book back from the Iron Wayfarer, but i did defeat him befor talking to the NPC about it and i don't have the book. Maybe there is a second encounter with him, otherwise i don't know how else to optain it.

Yes you can reach TWO sections with this elevator. It's the one with big red arrow for up/down in the tower

Yup, that was it! I really thought i had all the beacons. Fought the Lightreaper now too!
