Can someone tell me why the player in this game is so much smaller than the other human characters? What's the point?

It is common design used by Fromsoftware. The reason is simple, Player character is smaller so you can see better what the enemies are doing, especially bosses. I know it is strange especially in games like Sekiro where all the human bosses which are supposed to be normal people are basically double your height.

it is probably to drive home, some level of divine/demonic or demi-god level status on them. This dev team has borrowed VERY heavily from the previous Dark Souls games, and in those games the main character was not meant to be anything special and yet you are killing gods and dragons by the end, Representing humanity's growth.

If npc gets hostile, it makes for a better camera angle while locked on.

This make a lot of sense, and in fact MMOs do just that, however some games at least keep the NPCs your height.

That's what I wanted to comment on. They shouldn't have let the other NPCs be a head taller than our player. I noticed that right at the beginning of the game and I just didn't like it.

Well then, maybe you are just playing as a midget. There is nothing in the lore referencing the player being a small person.

I have made a screenschot today. That's one of the reasons why I'm not very active in the game.

Well, maybe it is. But if I'm playing as a Dark Crusader, I want to feel strong and powerful, not the smallest in the whole game.

Oh I understand, I noticed right away we are playing a smaller character. At first I thought I missed a slider in the character creator and went back to look for it. However I am used to being smaller than most enemies so I decided not to let the NPC height bother me. Especially when I know I am an immortal bad ass that will kill gods and demons alike before the game is over. It is funny this is the 1st post I have seen mentioning it though.
