Has anyone been able to get cross play to work?

It says it's back on but I can still never get it to work with my friends. Let me make sure I have what you're supposed to do right:
Both people set the same password in the settings, I beckon lampbearer and they accompany lambearer and it should just match us right??? For my friends trying to join me it just always says multiplayer session disconnected or something like that.

Having the SAME EXACT PROBLEM. It was never fixed and they're flaunting around as if it's the best experience ever. I admire their tenacity with the patches, but that's disrespectful. My boy bought it for me as a birthday gift, the day it came out, I've literally never have been able to run any of the game with him.

I wasn't too miffed because I have Spider-Man to contend with, but this is simply inexcusable at this point.

I'm on PC and my brother is on X-Box.

Step 0 : Make sure both online and allow crossplay options are on for both people
Step 1 : Set PW (Case sensitive, identical)
Step 2 : Ask host to beckon, and at a similar time-window, press accompany
Step 3 : Wait for like 20 seconds, and "join in 3, 2, 1" will appear in the top left, just under the buffs.

Works for me. Played for 6 ish hours yesterday with my brother

So we've figured out that for some reason only I can join them but it never works for them to join me. Ugh. Ugh >:(

I can't join my buddy both ways Pc - > Xbox or Xbox - > Pc. Not sure how to fix
