I tried dressing in the Stillness set and killing the red reaper and that did not progress anything, so I imagine this is more literally some kind of enemy near one of the beacons.

Okay now I killed the red reaper in the room directly below the beacon after the Crow while wearing the full Sin-Piercer set and nothing occurred.

Alright well the Beacon in the Hushed Saint arena now has a Rapturous Huntress and 3 Sin-Piercers in it so that is very telling, but I have killed them several times now while wearing the sin-piercer set and nothing is happening. I have also killed the reaper here to no effect.

There is for SURE something very important about these enemies being here, I am trying to figure out if the last line in particular is trying to aim me someplace separate.

No worries, you were right. You just need to have all five of the soulflays, and it is near the beacon. Off to the left side, though, in its own area.

Yeah i've tried killing the red reaper while wearing the Tortured Prisoner garb and the Hushed Saint set as well since and nothing. You found, what exactly? Near the beacon?
