Hacker gave me an item I cannot get rid of.

So there I was engaging in friendly co-op with strangers in that castle. They had dropped a few helpful items along the way (10 of those 3600 vigor skulls) and thought they were just good peeps.

Then they dropped me three re-spec items. Probably out of pity because my build was awful. I picked it up and it crashed the game. I go back online and shrug it off. Come 7 hours of game play later I remember I can re-spec with those items. I go to use it, doesn't work. Try again. Works. However, the item doesn't go away. Instead it increases by one each time. Logged off, tried again. Same thing. I had a hacker pull me into a boss fight In a level I hadn't reached yet and nothing happens to them, but silly me picks up item and easy cheat finds me.

Is my save screwed? Am I going to get banned because some hacker screwed up my inventory??? If the answer is Yes to any of these than the devs need to fix that exploit and not allow someone to brick their save or get em banned. I will not accept losing a 69 hour save.

Maybe if you contact the dev team, you can get them to fix your save file, but considering the size of the community, I am not sure how often that can happen.

People wonder why I want to disable PvP, it only take 1 person to wreck it.

I highly doubt devs can fix the save somehow and not in any quick time frame. I almost beat the game and near the end. I just want to finish. I'm a vet souls player and was hesitant to pick up stuff but figured, this ain't souls and maybe its not a thing. Benefit of the doubt.

Shame on me.

I once joined a host, they acted friendly, and dropped an item, i bailed as soon as i saw the item on the ground, i do not trust it.

Was shot by an arrow like the sin piercer uses, but it did all of the status effects at once and exploded in red vines. 10/10 pvp experience. Hackers/cheaters ruin everything and are the SOLE reason I only play with friends outside of random co-op, but I never, ever pickup anything people drop lol. Sorry that happened OP.

I was penalized in Darksouls 3 because I used a nude mod.

So, you get what you deserve. Don't take candy from strangers (even if the candy promises 500,000 vigors)

I wrote it on the first thread that appeared claiming to give you "free exp items": never take items from another player unless you know them, your game will get banned if you have cheated items in your inventory. Nobody listens...

Also, getting pulled in a level you haven't reached yet is not a hack. That's the normal coop behavior. Items, however, are a different story.

So destroy peoples game from hackers who are not banned, but ban those of us who deal with their aftermath. Makes sense.

Imagine new players who don't know this "unwritten rule." If this is a problem, then devs should never let people drop ♥♥♥♥. Don't punish people for using built in features of the game.
