Umbral Ending question - Spoilers obviously
Do I need to kill anyone before I kill the light reaper?

I would like to complete Damarose quest before which implies I need to kill the light reaper first before I kill her.

I think so just don't use Adyr rune to open the door until you make withered.

I couldn't complete Damarose quest while doing Umbral ending, I think because I had Damarose's Seedpod with me. I gave her all 3 types of Flesh, and she's supposed to do some kind of ritual on Crimson Rector Percival but never did. Only option I had was to use the Seedpod on her, killing her. I could buy the good rings (dual wield / two hand damage) from her after giving her the 3 types of flesh though.

So you are saying I can wait till the last moment before (of course) I have to open the castle gates?

Did this work for you? Can you hold off on killing any npc with a seedpod until you get to Bramis Castle door?

Yes, it did, I killed them just before I interacted with the Bramis door, but go back to Damarose before you fight Harkyn and after you beat the light reaper, otherwise she doesn't seem to be at the Bramis door, so unable to complete her quest.
