try using a heavy shield. i mean if his movesets remains the same in ng+ but just damage and health increase, heavy shield should still works like a hidden gem against him since it deflects and cancels his light combos

funny thing i'v killed Gerlinde for the umbral ending before giving the third rune and now i can't socket the weapon/shield ... big rip

Posture damage works wonderfully on him on NG+1

[Grad]

When fully upgraded, the shield you can obtain from the last bosses remembrance gives you 100% resistance to fire dmg, and 90% to physical.
While the shield is 50kgs you can use the rune that reduces weight and stat req to 0, from giving Gerlinde the Rune Tablet.

It will change your life in NG+, and for that matter the end of NG.

I've been trying to kill him in NG+1 for days.. no joy. It's insanely hard. I'm lvl 170 or so now, and he can still rip me a new one every single time, especially toward the last 25% of his health when he's jumping around all over the place dropping stat damage everywhere.

I had him once to 5% HP, then he leapt away with a projectile arc, and I died.
Yeah, he is fast and deadly. I do enjoy the fight though.

i m actually running pieta's sword coz it deals tons of dmg due to smite at max lvl but holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell i can't go down 20% when he start to dance with flames is pure hell

Yeah, that's why I ditched Pieta's sword after NG+1.
It's still good for clearing mobs, though.

His jumping slash fire attack is the biggest BS ever. it one shots regardless of build, it's super fast and ITS ARENA WIDE. If you have ANY lag at all it WILL kill you!
Seriously, I have almost finished ng+ and the Lightreaper is 2nd only to the Sundered Monarch for most BS "difficulty"

Still the best sword to kill him. Tried with umbral build. Changed for radiance, pieta with rings that give you health when smite dmg and eye that makes light attacks stronger but deal only wither dmg. Add shield and poor bastard got grilled easy.
