But when you die in Axiom, you would be fully in umbral and not "between the realms", and yet you are?
This is why you can walk to a umbral path that otherwise unaccessible if your body is still on axiom
I figured this was part of the technical reason. It's less work to make every enemy aggro when you cross over instead of just the umbral enemies. This is especially true if the devs really did have to rebuild a mostly done game in UE5.
If the lore is that the avatar is constantly between realms why does the avatar need to transition to the umbral to fight umbral enemies? The game is fun but the logic of this mechanic seems iffy.
Lorewise, you will ended up become vestige if you died in umbral while carrying the lamp
That feature would have been hell on the games stability, but I agree it could have been really cool.
