Russian localization

Hello! I'd like to ask about Russian localization. I'm not going to write something stupid like "no Russian - I don't buy", I'm definitely going to buy this game, but I just want to draw your attention to the fact that there are quite a lot of nationalities in the world who speak Russian, and it would be nice to be able to play the game in a familiar language.

I would recommend not supporting developers with money since they do not want to add localization for Russia, although it was indicated at the beginning!

Yeah I don't know why there is no Russian localisation but there is Ukrainian localisation, especially when way more people speak Russian than Ukrainian.

Whatever the reasoning behind the decision is, expect that Russian localization will now be an absolute afterthought for most developers. There is no such thing as pure neutrality, as everything will always be viewed in the light of the current events.

A real shame that most people can't distinguish between governments and people. I wonder, if China were to invade Taiwan, are developers going to stop doing localisations in Chinese Mandarin and only do Taiwanese Mandarin?

One thing that I will never understand is why Steam rarely does Arabian, Hindi or Bengali translations. Such huge untapped markets and yet no-one ever wants to go for it.

That being said, I do have to question the logic behind doing a Ukrainian localisation when more people speak Russian than Ukrainian, as Ukrainians/Belarus/Moldovans speak Russian but it does not extend the other way.

Because they don't need to. Majority in these regions speak or at least understand English very well.
As for the Ukrainian translation. Not sure, maybe convenience as they might already have a translation team for that language? Or maybe other reasons for few fluffy feel good points? Donno.

Why the double standard for Russian vs Ukrainian? Russian is far more universal than Ukrainian, so if anything don’t you think it (logically) makes more sense for both Ukrainians and Russians to learn English? Or at the very least give them both a translation? I’m just trying to figure out your logic here.

Russian and Ukrainian arent entirely the same. It is similar to Chinese-Japanese, sure you will know some words here and there and the alphabet is similar. But for thr majority aspect they are two different languages.

It is not. Not even all ukrainians know Ukrainian, plus, there are different dialects of the Ukrainian language, which can be understood by people from one region and cannot be from another. Actually, this is the main question about the lack of Russian localization - it covers a wide range of countries, such as Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, etc., even some European countries, and, obviously, including Ukraine.
