Multiplayer initially is not on the plans. It'd require the effort of basically remaking the game from scratch, so it's a hard one.
I know some other slice of life exploration games mentioned they wished they developed with only SP in mind and they wished they bit the bullet and did MP from the beginning.
Something like this is super cool and would be fun to play with a friend or two. Setting up a base and exploring. Hope it stays considered!
Just compare the cost of a basic shelter in subnautica and a similar structure in something like ark.
Plus its a lot harder to balance between a multiplayer game and single player, make the boss encounters balanced for a single player and a fighter bot with upgrades, and its too simple for multiple players and their bots... balance it for multiplayer, and it becomes either annoying or too hard for single player... in between and both lose out,
Sure it is harder to balance. But you can. F.e. you could change hp or speed or damage oder stunds as simple things. I could live with meh balanced mp-boosfights and let the fights be good for sp.
